God restored Shaneen from a 6-year battle with her heroin addiction by bringing her through the doors of Teen Challenge. After graduating Teen Challenge, Shaneen went on to their bible school in South Gate. During her studies at their Bible college Shaneen found her calling and gifting in the Lord, and since then has had a heart to serve the lost. She has been on staff with a ministry called NorthEast of the Well for 3 years where they bring the Word of God into the hardest places. She oversees ministry outreach activities, and teaches the Word of God, allowing her to bring hope and a path to wholeness to those whose struggles are similar to her own.

She was drawn to Gems Uncovered because she has had many experiences in her past where she could have easily been trafficked by someone. She never even recognized what was really going on right under her nose and now the fact that we get to bring hope to the ladies who feel like there is no way out is so life giving for her. Shaneen stands on the scripture that “Jesus came to seek and save the lost.” (Luke 19:10)
